jen of green cables.

oh how i love to make the cable. so, i am on a tiny cabled handbag tangent. i also have knitted a green cable clutch. once i get a closure figured out, it will be very ‘alpine chic’ – ha!

onward toward the craft fair…will be making a whole bunch of these library book bags.

ooooh i have never had such nice, yummy yarn before! courtesy of my mother-in-law who knows the spinner and they actually named the baby llama after our very own talula! [they spelled it the correct way]
blue note alpacasÂÂ

and it came in this too cute oval pear box!

i made this little handbag to try and sell them at an upcoming craft fair
*gasp*
first cable, first craft fair…dare i be so bold? well, i hope they sell!

today i turn 37. no biggie. so, 40 is right around the corner. no big whoop. didn’t oprah say 40 is like the new 20? wait, i think she said that about 50. well, she’s oprah. she can make it up as she goes along, can’t she?
like satchel paige said: how old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
yeah, that.
off to enjoy my day…

i did it. i made cable for the first time ever. it was good.
funny – we went to the pool yesterday since it is the last weekend it will be open and although the weather was warm and sunny, the pool was freeeeezing. so, i sat on the side making cable with wool, definitely a harbinger of fall. i can’t wait.
this will eventually be a cableknit handbag with oval dark wood handles. i wanted the pumpkin orange colored handles but they were not the right size. ah well – a bright colored liner it is then!

mmmmmmyummy mixed media over at industreal

during the president’s speech last night he said this:
‘america looks to the day when the people of the middle east leave the desert of despotism to the fertile gardens of liberty’
it’s actually not that hard to get to. if you look on metaphorical MAPQUEST ..
1. start at DESERT OF DESPOTISM
2. turn right onto the SURFACE STREETS OF SUFFERING
3. turn left on the PARKWAY OF PROGRESS
4. bypass RANCH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. refuel at TRUCKSTOP OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS
5. go through JIHAD JUNCTION
6. merge onto FREEWAY OF BEING FREE
7. stop at the WORLD’S BIGGEST BALL OF HOPE
8. continue on GRAND FUNK RAILROAD
9. end at FERTILE GARDENS OF LIBERTY
